Lightwing Batman



This interesting figure is one of the Deluxe figures in the line along with four others, one being a Riddler variant. It's an interesting HEAVY figure!



This figure's gigantic flightpack is its main gimmick. Pushing either the left or right buttons on top will make the figure's chest glow in a yellow light, and the figure's missile launcher to glow red.



The figure's missile is also clear like the launcher so it channels the red light nicely. Now, Lightwing Batman may be a bit of a misnomer as the figure's wings to not glow...at least not on mine, but I don't think it has lightbulbs on the sides.



That is a huge missile. Anyways the figure is an all new sculpt, probably one of the more muscular figures of the group along with Neon Armor Batman. The flightpack has a lightbulb and a clip that connect with the figure in a rather unconventional way unlike most other figures we've seen. The missile launcher can be rotated backwards into storage mode



I think this is a sweet figure with some cool light up features. They don't make them like they used to, that's for sure! Now while this figure is rather nice, the next one is the most WTF figure in the entire line. Riddle me this: Which one is it?

As we continue this speedrun through Batman Forever, we look at the real use for those clear outfits: LIGHT!



Clad in full black, the figure's cape is actually a battery and light bulb backpack that clips onto his waist. The Flashfire gun channels the light when the button is pressed as seen in the following pictures.



That is not a prop, it's my hand. The figure's chest has a sort of spot for the weapon to be placed on. I think it's pretty cool actually.



I wonder if the flash makes a difference. Anyways the figure's bulb fits on the hole in its back. This is my second favorite figure of the line. The light feature works very well.



Like Solar Shield and Night Flight Batmen, this figure is a retooled version of the same mold that uses the sonar suit in its most accurate forme. Now we'll be looking at the other Deluxe figures from the line. Stay tuned for some more light shows!

Another weird figure from a weird line. It uses the same mold as Night Flight Batman but with...a slight mod to it.



Initially I thought this was a Deluxe Batman, but it's not. It's just one weird Batman. Batman works at night so why the hell would he need a solar shield thingy? I mean this isn't exactly a flight cape. It can be used for posing in different ways though!



The cape's bottom has hinges that attach to the figure's ankles. The tubes on the back allow the cape to move in all sorts of angles, covering the figure completely up from uh...the sun? gunfire? Or opening it up for flight, etc. A million choices here especially when the ankle attachments are taken off. But really, wtf is up with this figure? The gun, a crossbow is also useless and guess what? He can only wield it on his right hand. Who knew?



The tubes on the back can move 360 degrees. They serve as attachments for the cape thing. Rotate them down and they'll be useless. They're only useful if they're up. The thing about this figure is the costume accuracy and the colors. The colors are nice. But even when I was a kid I thought this RARE figure was weird.



He's the same mold as Night Flight Batman and the next figure to be reviewed. Night Flight Batman's back has a seemingly corrected hole. Is it related to this change? Which came first? The egg or the bird? Either way, weird figure, harder to find than the rest, but again, this is the right sonar suit costume. Next up is the final accurate sonar suit figure: Power Beacon Batman. Another figure whose gimmick is its action flightpack and useless weapon, this is my favorite figure of the line and I'll tell you why.



Let's do a breakdown of this figure part by part: The Backpack. Copper colored, highly detailed though it could use some paint apps. The swing down helmet has teeth and an overall bat appearance. Swing the wings back and lock them down with a weak link. Swing back the helmet OVER the wings.



Pull down the lever and voila!...



Wings fold back up and helmet automatically swings forth like in the first picture turning Batman into a real bat. It's hard to tell which figure is battier: this one or Wing Attack Batman and its real life Bat attractor.



That's what it looks like inside. The shortfalls of this figure are the following: no real cape, weapon is just a weird looking saw thing he can only hold on his right hand and the lever from the backpack slides down ON ITS OWN, so if you have figures standing behind him WATCH OUT! He will ruin your display, so just display him with the wings up!



Reasons why I love this figure: The colors. Yes, dull copper goes well with Batman as most bats have brownish to grey to black hair. If Batman wasn't gonna be grey and blue or all black, this is the color I would have painted him on. It makes him look like Nite-Owl of Watchmen fame.



Yes the backpack is lame, but it's also got a cool sculpt and it looks like a drone bat, even better looking than the LoTDK Bat Attack Batman's drone Bat, though not as superior (this figure was made 2 years before).



Final reason why this is my favorite figure? The sonar suit is accurate. It's even more accurate than the Batman Robin Guardians of Gotham City 2 pack figure! See the GoGC Batman's gauntlets are still spiky whereas in the movie they should be conjoined like this figure has them! Everything about this figure is correct concerning the sonar suit. Yes I'm obsessed about the damn sonar suit. Luckily we got two more figures that are just like this one but with small adjustments. Had this figure been featured in the GoGC 2 pack with Skyboard Robin with a Batman Returns Robin cape we'd have a highly accurate 2 pack! But more on that later...



Looks good with the other dude's cape, doesn't he? I feel like a custom coming...
